5th The total pool for the series is over $50,000, comprising product prizes, trophies and prize money. The Sprint series format includes 3 races of approx 22kms each. The Tourist Trophy series which carries prize money of over $20,000 has a format that includes 2 races of approx 44kms per round. A feature over 66km event will be run on Sunday after the lunch break at each round, including the 61st annual Harvie Wiltshire Memorial Trophy race, Australia’s longest continuously run road race event. Each championship winner will receive a major prize in the form of a sponsorship arrangement from our supporting partners. Pirelli is the naming rights sponsor. They are contributing to the prize money pool as well as supplying the heavily price discounted Control Tyre for the Superstock classes with all the other classes free to use any brand of tyre. The series is designed to bridge the gap from club racing to the state and national level. The inclusion of prize money and prizes should help riders achieve that. Currently there are a proportion of riders that only race in club races and don't realise the chances out there at state and national levels. This series will show them how easy that step up can be and lead to an increase state and national grids. The value for money entry fees, longer races, more track time, prize money, major championship prizes and off track entertainment are the main features of this series and a draw-cards for riders and spectators. Show’N’Shine, Swap Meet, Pillion Hot Laps, Lunch Time Track Walks and Pits Open to Spectators are some of the off track entertainments. The 4 rounds of the Series will conducted at Broadford (VIC), Winton (VIC), Mac Park (SA) and Broadford (VIC). Classes will be Superbike, Superstock 1000 B&C, Supersport, Superstock 600 B&C, BEAR’s/Thunderbike, Twin Sprint/Formula 400/Pre-Modern F2*, 125/250GP, Supermoto, Sidecar, Pre-Modern F1/Period 6*, Junior 4 Stroke, Junior Big Wheel 2 Stroke and Junior Small Wheel 2 Stroke. *If 10 of each class compete a separate championship will be awarded. Preston has a proud and long eight decade history of developing the sport, including over 20 years of conducting Road Race Schools, Australian and State Championships and B & C Grade Championships. Preston was the first club to embrace Junior Road Racing and our members have continually been active on MV committees.
